Using the Training Arena
- When you enter the arena, please go to Field 1, if you aren't there already.
To do this click on Select, then on the Field tab, and then select Field 1 from the Locations dropdown list (ensure that you're in the Red country). Click OK to move to the field.
- Please make sure your radio is set to channel 101. Since most of the trainers will be in the Red country, broadcasting on this channel will enable them to "hear" you. To do this, press the / key to bring up the radio window, and type .radio 1 101 and press ENTER.
- Broadcast a message to let the staff know that you are reporting for training.
- Please do not leave Field 1, unless you are instructed to follow a specific trainer.
- A staff member will assign you to a trainer, and tell you where to meet the trainer, and any other necessary information.
- Occasionally, the trainers may be busy replying to other questions or assisting a student, and may not respond to to you immediately. If this happens, please be patient - the trainer will be with you as soon as possible.
- Please do not join a trainer who is already busy with a lesson, unless the trainer asks you to do so. This will only create confusion.
- All trainer/instructors will have = signs in their Pilot ID's to identify them. For example, ==yt==, ==ac==, and =flet=. If you click on the Roster button while you're in the tower, you will see who they are.
- If no one has responded to your original broadcast, please send another message on channel 101.
- If you or your instructor gets disconnected or dumped from the training arena, log back onto the server and re-enter the arena. Go to the field or tower where you were last and let the instructor know you have returned.
Note: If you were using a private radio channel with your instructor, you will need to retune in order to broadcast and receive.
